The body of Muchaneta Josaya of Mapikhule village under Headman Masivamele, Chief Sengwe, was discovered by Patrick Ngungwani, a veterinary officer at Chikombedzi who had gone to relieve himself in the bush after disembarking from a Chiwara bus at around 6 am.
While Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhehwa told this publication that the report had not yet reached his office at the time of enquiry, this publication can reveal that the now deceased was running Showers of Blessings shop at Chibwedziva business centre together with his husband, Fundi Ngomanyana.
This publication also managed to establish that Josaya left her business premise yesterday to her house in Curvy Road, Chiredzi with the intention of seeking prayers from her Pastor Oria Kufera over her deteriorating health.
After having prayers by the Pastor at his house in Phiri road, the now deceased left the Pastor’s house at around 2100hrs and proceeded to her house where she had a lengthy discussion with her Son Miyeto Maluleke before going to bed with her daughter Talent Maluleke.
In the middle of the night, Talent woke up and found out that her mother was not in the house and alerted Miyeto who was sleeping in a separate room.
The kids both went outside the house and found their mother drinking water from a tape, holding a packet of mealie meal, claiming that she was hungry.
They took her inside the house and slept but the mother sneaked out again at around 3 am and she was nowhere to be found.
They alerted the Pastor and a search was made. There is no foul play suspected since police could not find incriminating marks on the body and at the scene. The woman used a 60 metres cloth to hang herself.
The body was positively identified by Esta Manyanye, who is believed to be a relative to the now deceased.
