Chiredzi- The Vice Chairperson of ZETDC Consumer Advisory Committee and businessmen, Graham Murindagomo was elected as the Treasurer of the National Association of Agricultural Show Societies in Zimbabwe (NAASSZ) on 19 June this year.

The National Executive Board of the association now consists of two members from the Lowveld after ZETDC Eastern Region Marketing Officer, Patient Mbarara was also elected as the Public Relations Officer.
Murindagomo said it is an honour to be given a bigger role and responsibility in the association. He said he is ready to take the challenging job.
“Its an absolute honour to be assigned this responsibility. Im so humbled and now ready to undertake my national duty.” Murindagomo said.
Ten members contested during the virtual elections.The Chairperson and Secretary position had one member each contesting.
The Chairperson of the Mashonaland West Agricultural Show Society, Godfrey Mavankeni was re-elected as the National Chairperson.
Other executive board who were also voted in the new board are Augustine Mupakurirwa (Vice Chairperson), Thabani Mkwananzi (Secretary) and Moline Matina (vice secretary).
Patience Mbarara also expressed gratitude to be elevated to a higher position and promised to give equal commitment to the association.
‘I would like to thank the members who entrusted me and voted me into the national executive.
I humbly accept the role and promise to put maximum effort for the betterment of the association and it’s membership.” he said.
The NAASSZ was formed in 2014 but launched in 2016 by the Chief Executive Officer for Zimbabwe Agricultural Society who is now the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement, Dr Anxious Masuka.
The Association comprises of 15 show societies including 1 National, 9 provincial and 5 district show societies.
Last year, all the Show Societies were greatly affected as they did not open their doors for exibitions because of COVID 19. It is highly unlikely that they will open this year.
