He and his wife Yuphlasia Ngwenya donated a US $4000-00 to vendors and those who are doing poultry projects in his Ward last week at Westwood Lodge.
The event was graced by the Zanu pf provincial woman’s League executives, including the Chairperson, Aliginia Samson, secretary for finance, Chipo Chinokoro as well as church leaders who reside in the ward.
The donation came after Ngwenya had consulted the entrepreneurs on the amount they needed to boost their businesses.
He mentioned that Ward 2 has is the highest to offer hotelier services, creating unsaturated market for poultry products as well as horticulture.
“The idea is to boost revenue in our area and help the business people to acquire a more sustainable income”, he said.
He also added that vendors requested capital injection of US $50-00, while those involved in poultry will get $100-00 each which will be paid back at 0% interest.
“We are not going to give those who want to start, but those who are already into the project since it is not an initiating fund.
We are going to dish out the money in groups and when the first group pays back, the money will be channeled to the next group and so on.” he said.
“My target is for the Revolving Funds to reach US $ 10 000 or more by end of 2022 so as the facilities to help several families.
The money in circulation no no longer belongs to me, l already permanently parted ways with it.
“I am also partnering the Youths in having a Recreational Centre with wifi, well decorated garden and etc.
“My wife and children are in great support on all these initiatives. The community is promising to join hands in all the projects taking place,” said Ngwenya.
The hard cash was handed over to the Executive branch by Mrs Ngwenya.
Chiredzi Proportional MP, Aliginia Samson heaped praises on the Councilor, saying the initiative encourages woman to work hard.
“You should not spend the whole day on the sofa like a cat or roam around the streets like a car. We should work hard especially when such opportunities come.
“This is the first time we’ve been invited to a Ward after our recent appointments as an executive and this is a huge project.
Everyone knows my history that I started by going to the market for my business,” said Samson.
