Chiredzi- Police in Chiredzi arrested a murder suspect, Alex Muchocha,who is accused of slaining her Ex-girl friend and fled.
Machona appeared before Chiredzi magistrate Brian Munyaradzi,who refused to grant him bail and ordered him to do so at the Hight Court.
Alex Muchocha was arrested last week during a manhunt operation Police’s CID Homicide division.
His will remain in custody for two weeks and will be back at the Court after two weeks for routine remand.
Information supplied to this publication by pricy sources indicate that on 22 November 2021 at around 2000hrs,Mercy Zibhowa was seated at a fire place in a shed that she used as a house at the Dumpsite, together with her co-habiting husband,Peter Majoka.
Machona allegedly pitched up from nowhere and advanced towards the woman holding an Okapi knife in his right hand.
The husband fled the scene and sought help from neighbour’s who also reside in shades around the Dumpsite.
Upon his return,in the company of his neighbours Simbarashe Mutisi and Tarisai Mubaiwa,he found his wife lying downwards,in a pool of blood shouting for help.
Mujaka rushed to make a report at Lyonais Police base,but by the time he returned in the company of police officers,he found Zibhowa dead.
She had six stab wounds,three on the Stormach,one on the back and one on each knee.
Police could not take any scientific evidence,foot prints or struggle marks because of the rains.
The deceased’s body was ferried to Chiredzi General hospital for postmortem.
