It’s not over, until it is over.
The battle for control of larger portions of land in Chiredzi district between the two warring chiefs, Tshovani and Neromwe is far from over.
The two Chiefs, together with their subjects, will be at Chiredzi Court next week, each trying to justify themselves.
Last week, chief Neromwe, real name, Clemence Madzingo, was at the court, together with the Tshovani camp.
The two sides clashed over the boundary, with Neromwe claiming that there is a court order that bars Tshovani and his subjects from addressing people in some mentioned areas.
It looks like all the subjects are flaunting the court order.
Neromwe won the battle to control the vast part of Chiredzi district two years ago.
The court ruled in his favour, after he had approached the court seeking to be confirmed as the substantive chief in the disputed area.
Chief Tshovani had to appeal the case, and it’s still pending at the High court.
It is alleged that subjects from both Chiefs are criss-crossing the boundaries, leading to a clash that is set to be decided by the magistrate.
The land dispute between the two Chiefs is also affecting traditional ceremonies, like the Shangani’s Hoko-circumsicion ceremonies.
During the pass out of 800 graduates who went under the knife last month, Denford Masiya (Chiredzi East) asked Ezra Chadzamira to step in the wrangle because the areas that they used to camp for the initiation programme is now under Chief Neromwe.
“Honorable Minister the biggest challenge that we faced this year during the initiation programme is that some of the areas that we used to use for this programme is now claimed ownership by someone else”, Masiya told a gathering at Chilonga primary school two weeks.
Neromwe now controls a greater part of the land, while Tshovani lost the vast of his land and is only left with four Wards in Chiredzi East.
