CHIREDZI-Politicians are always known for cat-fishing, empty promises and hot airs, but not for Chiredzi West MP Farai Musikavanhu.

During the burial of United Chiredzi Resident and Ratepayers Association Advocacy Officer, Benard Dachi, three weeks ago, Musikavanhu told a bereaving crowd that he was going to take responsibility on the deceased ‘s siblings.
In particular, the Mp promised to pay school fees for Praise Dachi, a form four student at Chibi high school.
He never disappointed. Last week the legislator took of his tight schedule as a farmer and politician, walked into BancABC and forked out $60 000Rtgs for her school and exam fees.
According to proof of payments that were gleaned by this publication, the receipts that were acquired by this publication, he paid $59 786-00 on 17 June 2021.This is for, registration and school fees.
Praise Dachi (17) is a student at Chibi Mission and is currently preparing to seat for her ordinary level exams this year.
The legislator told this publication that he was moved by Dachi’s sudden death, considering how they worked together to uplift the plight of Chiredzi residents.
“I knew him (Bernard) very well and I am saddened by his departure. I made a promise and I had to fulfil it.” Musikavanhu said.
He also promised to consider supporting the girl to further her education should she excel in her studies.
Dachi’s wife Edwich Makande confirmed the development.
“I thank the MP for the support during these trying times”, she said.
Newsday Reporter and Dachi’s longtime friend Garikayi Mafirakureva also acknowledged Musikavanhu’s good gesture.
“This shows that the two worked together and also that my friend worked well with other people in the community.
Musikavanhu’s gesture is something that no one can ignore to give thanks”, he said.
